Mr. Carp received his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado in 1995, completed his Athletic Training Certification in 1996, and graduated from Carroll College in 1999 with a Master of Physical Therapy degree. In 2004 he became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). He obtained his Vestibular Rehabilitation Competency Certification from Emory University School of Medicine in 2005 and Advanced Competency Certification from Duke University in 2011.

Based in Eugene, Oregon, he is the owner/director of Cooperative Performance & Rehabilitation, specializing in vestibular, orthopedic, and sports rehabilitation and sports performance enhancement.

In 2005 he was a founding member of Dr. Robert Donatelli’s Sports Specific Rehabilitation Fellowship. He has authored chapters in Donatelli’s Sports Specific Rehabilitation, Orthopedic Physical Therapy, and Physical Therapy for the Shoulder texts published by Elsevier. He has also published research on core stabilization in the Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy and on balance performance in professional golfers in Lower Extremity Review. He is involved in ongoing projects focusing on balance and falls prevention, Tai Chi, visual-vestibular training protocols, prevention of baseball injury, and cervical stabilization.

In addition to serving as an instructor for Empiridence® Seminars, he has taught his material through the Oregon Orthopedic Physical Therapy Study Group, the University of Oregon’s International Institute for Sport and Human Performance, Lane Community College, the Oregon Occupational Therapist Association, and the Northwest Athletic Trainer’s Association. He is also a clinical instructor for numerous Doctor of Physical Therapy programs.
